Thumbs down Wesenberg Coil Tester

I think Tom wesenberg had plans for a coil tester. Can someone direct me to it please. If I'm not remembering correctly I'd appreciate direction to other home built coil testers please. Thanks.

I liked Tom Wesenberg's coil tester so well that I made my own. Like most of you say there is nothing like testing it on the car but is kind of fun to play Frankenstein with it. You could take a heat gun and warm up the coil to see if it would fail, but if you had some coil's and condenser's it would be good to sort good from bad.

The surplus store where I bought the relay doesn't have any more like it, and I'm waiting for the rain to quit so I can drop my Olds gas tank to repair a leaking rusted fuel line on the tank sender. Just can't get caught up with repairs much less take on more jobs right now.

FWIW, I made one up with a relay that was laying around once just to play.

So the exact brand is likely to matter much. Might have to play with the capacitor/ resister values to get the speed you want.
