30-31 cowl on a 29 Briggs
Does anyone who has a 29 sedan ever have someone come up to them at a gas station or wherever and insist that your 29 has the wrong cowl on it? I have had it happen several times. People associate the smooth cowl with 30-31 only...

Yes often happens, they got me when I first entered this hobby and looked it up to be sure I was right.

I've often wondered if you had the parts sitting around if the 30-31 cowl would match up with the 28-29 Briggs door hinges and belt line.

Re: 30-31 cowl on a 29 Briggs
There are so many good picturial A books these days, I wonder why enthusiasts get the different bodystyles wrong. We only had Clymers 'Model A Album' back in the '60's which was enough to teach you what all the Model A's looked like.

Re: 30-31 cowl on a 29 Briggs
My understanding is that the straight windshield town sedans and standard fordors used the same bodies from the front doors back, for '29 - '31, up until the introduction of the slant windshield fordors - Murray of course fitting Murray bodied cars, and the same for Briggs - essentially the only difference being the cowl sections and possibly the floor sill connections at the cowl.
