Trouble with a 32 BB truck
It's not a V8 but it is a 32 Ford. Does anybody know how to remove the distributor from the engine? The top fastener has been removed but the dizzy won't come out. There is a screw into the block at the bottom of the dizzy shaft. Does that have to come out? Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance. Royal |

You have to remove the set screw on the side of the head by the exhaust manifold.

Re: Trouble with a 32 BB truck
Patience doesn't hurt. Most likely it's well in there, soak it (after removing the set bolt). Might just pop out too.
32 B motor i'm guessing. Easy give away is a fuel pump. Cool project. Last edited by Tinker; 11-18-2018 at 10:40 PM. |

Re: Trouble with a 32 BB truck
Before you get out the big hammer they make a puller for the A distributors that should work. Try some place like Bratton's. Be careful it is easy to crack the distributer casting.

Why are you needing to remove your distributor?

Re: Trouble with a 32 BB truck
There is a hole in the head where a pin on the bottom of the distributer housing fits (see photos). Don't try to twist the distributer to take it out without first lifting it enough to get the pin clear of the hole.

Re: Trouble with a 32 BB truck
Thanks to all for the good advice. My friend owns this truck and he will soon use this information. I also expect him to join the Fordbarn.
