Default Sourcing Lebaron Bonney parts

I was wondering if anyone might know where LB got their convertible window frames.
I was left hanging with half an interior kit from LB when they went under and was able to complete the rest of it with the help of Jeff at Hirsch Auto at the suggestion of David and others on this site.
I was wondering if anyone knows their source.
Thank you.

The back window frames were made by Metal Fab Engineering (Ezra Welding).

They have recently became unfriendly to many of their dealers and not very interested in pursuing the antique parts business (less than 5% of their current business with 5-10 times the administrative effort of there other business lines).

A&L makes a nice Model A one but are not interested in expanding into the V8 line.

I am exploring having them made as investment castings... I will update if I have any positive information.

Thank you Karl. Were the originals also cast?

I sure hope you are able to produce these needed parts.

I would like to get a traditional rectangular convertible rear window frame for 49 51 Ford and Merc. It's shown on page 78 of their 2011 catalog. Part #WfGC-SS. Size is 9" x 26".
Tempered 1/8 " glass to fit is part # WFGCGT.

According to pages 3-8 and 3-9 of the V8 Club '49-'51 book, '49 and '50 convertibles had a rectangular 8" x 24" window and '51 convertibles had a large plastic window.

I am in the same boat with Lebaron Bonney, got most of the interior for my 50 Ford convertible, but need the rear window frame. If anyone finds a new supplier for window frames, please contact me at 336 601-8703. Thank you, Randy Wagoner

Just an FYI- Echler's bought some of the LeBarron Bonney company/inventory. I emailed their customer service and, surprisingly, received a reply next day. They did not get any of the convertible window frames.
I need a '40 (about 5" x 20).

The rear window that they provided for a 36 roadster was not the same size as the original. I had my original one rechromed.

Aro2000 lists some top frames on their site. Good people to do business with.

SMS is very slow at filling orders. I've been waiting a year for some of my order. Anyone have an idea as to how to get them to fill orders. Pretty difficult to line up upholsters and plan for a finish date until material is received.

SMS was the worse vendor I’ve ever dealt with, I would do without before I would deal with them again. I won’t go into detail but avoid at all cost.

What would be the alternative for original Model A Fabric ? Where does SMS source their Model A Ford salt and pepper panel material? I did receive Bedford Cord material for my seats and side panel which apparently they supplied to LB.

It is an exact match to my original so was happy with that.

moasew, as far as an interior goes for your Model A Classtique and Cartouche won't do if you are planning to show your car. Their interior kits aren't close to LeBaron-Bonney's product as far as being close to correct. You might try Bill Sturm but it will be very expensive. I have read several post's regarding SMS, so do your homework before dealing with them. There are several rumors floating around about LB's inventory. One thing I do know as fact is this. LB was the only place we know that carried the 66" wide Cobra Grain roof material for '41 thru '48 ford Station Wagons. Several of us Woodie owners got together and offered to purchase the entire roll from LB. We were told that because of several law suits and other litigation that nothing could be sold. That was about two years ago, so if things got sorted out SMS might have been able to purchase material from them. I do know that SMS does not have the Cobra Grain in 66".
