Default '34 Brake Rod Supports

Were the original front brake rod supports (Part #B-2502) made of leather or were they made of rubber, like today's replacement supports?

Good to know and thanks for that info. I can't locate any leather supports from the usual suspects so I'm thinking I'll have to fabricate them using an old leather belt and some rivets....

With respect, I believe that the leather ones were issued during WWII as service parts due the rationing of anything made of rubber. The originals used back starting as a running change late in the '32 model year were made of fabric-reinforced rubber. To their credit, at least in one point in time, the Bob Drake reproductions were exactly as original including the fabric reinforcement.

David - The picture of the support I posted is from the Bob Drake website. The description there states: "Cloth molded in rubber like the original." >

I can't help but think a leather support would be more durable though....
