Default Cast iron brake drums

When were cast iron brake drums first offered to the Model A restoration market?

Ford came out with the Rocky Mountain cast iron brakes in 31, so I'am thinking monkey see monkey do as for after market parts?

I bet if you contacted Randy Gross, Mel's son, he might know.

I remember getting some Plasmeter cast iron drums in the late 80's or early 90's.

A company called Plasmeter started making them in 1982. Snyder’s bought that from them in the 1990s. Currently three companies making them, two in China and one in the USA.

Think I got mine at Brattons some years back. It was a bit of work to get everything renewed and improved, but well worth it.
