Tom,
Great idea. My thought was to put that third fuse in the line between the generator and junction box, but your idea of an EVR or fuse between the adjustable brush and field sounds better. In any case, I feel the single fuse at the starter terminal is not enough and may even be a false sense of security.

Since the wiring in a Model A is simply all "daisy chained" together, any of it shorted to ground (dead short), would also ground the generators output, and that would stop everything. It would be unlikely for a wire to just fall off. Although now that you mention it, I have seen the wiring in your car... might be a good idea to put a fuse in every wire you can see. (nyuk,nyuk)
