Is there anyway to trace back a original Ford VIN# to original sale / dealer ? Looking to trace missing 25 yrs. of original purchaser

When you repost on the V8 forum be sure to include your state. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to find what you are looking for but having a state might turn up something unique to that state. All you will probably be able to find from the VIN (serial number) is when the engine and transmission were final tested at the Rouge Plant. They were shipped from the Rough Plant to assembly plants all around the country and some foreign assembly plants.
