Help Identifying Garage Sale Headlights
I picked these up at a yard sale this past weekend...Don't know diddly about them, but know they are early Ford.
Can anybody tell me what they fit? If in the wrong section...sorry! |

Re: Help Identifying Garage Sale Headlights
snappydon, they look like 1934 Ford. They appear to have two bulbs in the reflector which means the top one is for the parking light. Fitted to 1934 Ford "standard" cars. Deluxe cars have only one bulb for the headlight and park lights were separate cowl mounted. Regards, Kevin.

More to above, they have been painted over. Original finish is polished stainless steel. Regards, Kevin.

Look like commercial truck '34, which would have been painted.

The rings are stainless or chrome under the paint but the body is painted, not stainless.
So 1934 commercial truck then... Thanks guys! |

Re: Help Identifying Garage Sale Headlights
There are also some grades of stainless steel that will attract a magnet.

Re: Help Identifying Garage Sale Headlights
Yes I know there are a number of different grades of stainless steel, some will attract a magnet and some will not. I would have thought the FORD stainless lights would have been pretty good quality. So I just went out to the garage and tested the two stainless headlights on my original 1934 ford fordor. One lamp body attracted the magnet but its rim did not. The other body did not attract the magnet but its rim did. I have several other separate spare rims and bodies and they were a mixture also. They are all original lamps, not repros. I guess ford used different suppliers for these lights. Anyway I am going to bed now. LOL. Regards, Kevin.
