Default Help Identifying Garage Sale Headlights

I picked these up at a yard sale this past weekend...Don't know diddly about them, but know they are early Ford.

Can anybody tell me what they fit?

If in the wrong section...sorry!

snappydon, they look like 1934 Ford. They appear to have two bulbs in the reflector which means the top one is for the parking light. Fitted to 1934 Ford "standard" cars. Deluxe cars have only one bulb for the headlight and park lights were separate cowl mounted. Regards, Kevin.

More to above, they have been painted over. Original finish is polished stainless steel. Regards, Kevin.

Look like commercial truck '34, which would have been painted.

The rings are stainless or chrome under the paint but the body is painted, not stainless.

So 1934 commercial truck then...

Thanks guys!

The 1934 trucks and commercials had a much more shallow light bucket than the ones shown in the pics. and were painted black. The only exception in the commercials were the passenger car based sedan delivery which had passenger car stainless headlamps like those shown. Maybe some better side view pics of the buckets will help. Scrape some paint off the body or place a magnet against it for a better check. Stainless will not attract the magnet. Regards, Kevin.

Many headlights were plated or painted brass so the magnet test will only tell you that it is, or is not, magnetic.

There are also some grades of stainless steel that will attract a magnet.

Yes I know there are a number of different grades of stainless steel, some will attract a magnet and some will not. I would have thought the FORD stainless lights would have been pretty good quality. So I just went out to the garage and tested the two stainless headlights on my original 1934 ford fordor. One lamp body attracted the magnet but its rim did not. The other body did not attract the magnet but its rim did. I have several other separate spare rims and bodies and they were a mixture also. They are all original lamps, not repros. I guess ford used different suppliers for these lights. Anyway I am going to bed now. LOL. Regards, Kevin.
