Default 3 questions about early 28 Clutch/Transmission

The first question is do I have this felt installed correctly for the radius ball
2nd Is this the correct order bearing retainer and then the clip and is the retainer facing the correct way with the hump up
3rd Does this felt ring and retainer go in the flywheel with felt facing bearing and can I order a new felt somewhere
This is a early 28 and sorry about the poor picture quality Thanks You Billy

Chief, I sold the 28 distributor I had for you. The one on e-bay is a 28 casting and assembly using original style points and condenser. I will donate this if it does not sell. I need your address to send this to you. How about you pay the shipping, about $8.00. Call me for details and questions please.

There is an article about the restoration of the multiple disk clutch that may be of help to you.

Go to the web site of the Santa Anita A's of Arcadia, California at www.santaanitaas.org on the home page put your curser on "Technical Reference", my name will appear below, click on it an it will bring up a menu of articles. Scroll to the one on the multiple disk clutch.

If you can't find the felt then I'd buy some at the fabric store and cut it to size.
You may have to stack a few layers for the correct thickness.

The felt was originally a grease seal for the pilot bearing and should mount against the pilot bearing. If you use a sealed bearing, you don't need it. If you still want to install it, you can simply make it yourself.
