Default Interior Windshield Garnish Moulding

Took the moulding out of the interior windshield to work on my wiper switch etc., I am putting it back in and there are 2 spring load type fasteneres that ride in the moulding channel toward the glass and rubber, does anyone know if there is a specific spot these fasteners should be, looks like the fastener would line up with one of the holes in the moulding where a philip screws that holds the moulding on would go, but not sure if needs to be that way or if they belong by the rearview mirror mounting holes? The other question I have is that the center moulding strip that goes down the center of the windshield has a piece of tin type metal at the top that appears to be soldered from factory, looks kind of in an L shape not sure how that is placed?
