Crankshaft Pulley replacement
Aloha
Was looking to replace my broken crankshaft pulley with a 2 pcs screw in pulley, but I cannot find one. I also look at some of the post and they recommend to replace with a 1 pc pulley. In order to do so there are a lot of thinks that have to come off: Front light, radiator etc... as well as loosening the motor mount in order to tilt it for the pulley to pass the frame. Not sure if I am ready for all that. Need some help and precision on what it would entail to replace with a 1 pc pulley (what to remove) and also how do lift the engine, can you put a wood block under the pan and jack it up? or will it damage the pan? then where would you jack it up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. mahalo |

Re: Crankshaft Pulley replacement
I used one of those screw together pullies a few years ago. It didn't last long at all. I have since used one of these and it seems to be doing well.

I also ended up with a bit of rubbing interference between the new pulley and the front motor mount, had to relieve the front motor mount a bit. Apparently not uncommon. BTW, lights don't need to come off. Just the radiator. You do need to disconnect the electrical from the lights to get the wires out of the radiator shell. JayJay
