On my 8ba I removed the downdraft tube and installed a rubber grommet #42054, I found on the HELP! rack at my local parts store. The valve is Fram # PCV 306. Run the hose to the fitting in the manifold below the carb. (Holley 390). Works great.

As 4T8v8 says, it's simple on an 8BA with a 4bbl. Walt

If a P.V.C. valve is used and sucking in the vapor from the crank case would not that gum up the valves?

Jamco Suspension in Corona, CA... 951-549-1441 (www.jamcosuspension.com)
Has a very neat PCV system for the 8BA style of engines..
I recently purchased a set of modified springs for a project I am working on, I came upon the PCV kit in their online catalog..

In response to "Bill S".... No... the addition of a PCV will actually improve the performance of an engine... The fuel ratio can be reduced because the engine will be burning any vapor that enters the combustion chamber.
The engine will have 'forced' ventilation at any speed, even on an idle, in lieu of the road draft type that was used on engine until 1963..

My PCV goes from the hole in the intake manifold where the road draft tube formerly resided to the base of the Rochester 2GC carb I'm running on a Merc. manifold. It makes a very clean installation with only about 6" of hose showing. The Rochester has a 1/4" NPT hole in the base casting and a hose barb screws right in. FWIW
