search SMS auto fabrics. sounds like a nightmare co. I got ours from custom auto interiors but was quite a while ago. sort of crazy co. seems to be 2 companies under one name but we bought seat upholstry and we bought material and did our own door panels

2 year old post on SMS. A lot of turmoil when LaBaron Bonney quit. I think I read elsewhere that SMS was getting back up to speed, but not sure. Not many resto guys left, the money is in used car repairs and street rod stuff.

Several years ago I bought material from SMS, a local shop covered the seats and they look like the originals. But they wouldn't (couldn't?) do the door panels. SMS made them but I waited over a year for them to get finished.

It's a bit frustrating as there doesn't seem to be anywhere to get upholstery kits especially for a 57 ford country sedan. I reached out to SMS and we'll see what they have to say. Has anyone dealt with Cartouche? I think I found a local dealer, All Start Upholstery, who claims to sell kits?? I'll try reaching out to them too. Thanks for everyone's response.

I purchased an old used Consew 206 walking foot machine a number of years ago due to the fact that most of the cars I like don't have kits made for them. SMS can be hit or miss on fabrics but they are the only outfit that has the 50s style materials. If they don't have that stuff in stock then a person has to get creative.

I have talked with them and a Country Squire owner that I communicate with bought his interior from them. It took them about a year to get it to him but it is spot on for originality purposes.
