Default Possible to repair speedometer bezels? 39 Pickup

Wondering if many speedo bezels crack like in the attached photos (39 Ford PU). I have two, both cracked.

Kinda wondering if a buy a replacement speedo, will it be the same?

Have read stainless can be soldered if one gets thru the oxidation, but this stuff is pretty thin.

Also, what have folks used to replace the "windows" for the gauge lights in these old units? Wondering if strips cut out of milk jugs might work?

Thanks, Gordon
