Obviously this guy came from a scrambled gene pool.
Let's pray that he never fathers a child!!

The guy looks as though he was once human. Cut his hair and clean him up and he would look human again, and that just what his court appointed and paid for lawyers will do. What's really scary is that "deer in the headlights" look in his eyes. You're looking at the pyschological effects of pot, dude! I smell paranoia. Drug induced paranoia to be sure. He probably thought he was ripping off a plaything of a one percenter or some such scenario.

never been to No. Cal OR Oregon, why all the weirdos? And the tats, I'm seeing more and more around the Midwest even.

To sum this up, and Model A related, there is more and more DISRESPECT in our country, people who disrespect their bodies aren't gonna give a hoot about YOUR property. Or Your safety.

One word: Methamphetamine

Meth is rampant in this country, especially in the Northwest, look at the Scabs.

Like others, I find it hard to believe he was able to start it. Were the keys just sitting in the ignition? If not, how would he know how to hot wire it? Also, how many people who haven't been around Model As know where the starter button is? Or how to choke it? it's not like a modern car where you just turn the key to make it run. And it would be even harder to start a Model A for the first time if you are "messed up" on alcohol or drugs. I know old guys who have been around other old cars that don't know how to start or drive a Model A. Something is weird here.......

I have to wonder if he just put in in neutral and coasted down a hill into the drink. That would be easy enough for a idiot.

We (wife, her sister, 12 y.o. niece) ended up leaving because of the behavior of the crowd (drunkenness, profanity). I commented that I've never voluntarily hung around that type of person and wasn't about to start.

Bend is a beautiful place, very scenic, full of very nice people, and several nice vintage cars. And a few bad apples. I don't know what attracts the dirtbags to these places, but NoCal and OR seem to have way more than their share. It might have something to do with the people in charge having an excess of tolerance for antisocial behavior.

I like to talk about the weird people here in the Portland area but I don't think they are much weirder than people elsewhere. I have traveled a good share of the US over the years and I think you find good and bad people everywhere. But I think the people of Oregon in the outlying areas of Oregon are very independent people and they work together when the need is there. So there are many good people in this state so please don't trash it.

So guess the point of this rambling is please don't give the Oregon people such a "bad" name. You will find all types of people in the world today, some good and some bad. Maybe more fitting the bad category than there was a number of years ago.

I LOVE central Oregon, wish I could live there, but family had other plans! Also love the Gold Country of CA, the Shasta area, the coast, Washington state, Idaho, Montana, Utah… Lots of good, clean, rust-free vintage cars in those places.

I think we all share in noticing how people's human minds are so different "everywhere" today when compared to years ago.

Appears that nobody can predict which State or which Country will experience for example the next group of Kindergarten student children that will get stabbed, shot, or kidnapped.

When small drug peddlers are caught, their hands are slapped, & they are later turned loose.

Ever wonder why no investigation is conducted to find the highly protected source of the drug dealing wholesalers.

Mass fortunes are made everywhere with laundered drug money.

Kind of ironic that it happened while the owner was at church.
Like the Bible says "Trust in God but don't forget to tie your camel"

I wonder if he didn't have a father or grandfather that had a Model A ? -no way anyone that is not already familiar with a car of this vintage is going to be able to start it-and fewer and fewer young people know how to drive a manual trans.

Ha ha, Exactly. Ya just a funny picture.

Weird doesn't bother me, plenty of good, nice, generous, loving, weird people.

The thief is non of the above, most likely.
