Re: Request for AC guys
Hi Keith, I guess that would depend on the driver, location, and ability
to handle the heat without getting heat stroke. I love the hobby and the people involved in the hobby so AC is a way for me to stay with the Model A group. I have been involved with several car clubs and the "A People" are by far the friendliest, most willing to share information, understand needs of others and are always willing to help. But like anything else.... there is always one |

Re: Request for AC guys
Before I bought my A/C kit from Ken Davis, I heard this scenario about shortening the parking brake lever. So, I bought a good used original in anticipation that I would need to shorten the lever and I did not want to be without one while the modification was being made.
Well, after I got everything, Ken's kit came with suitable brackets to alter the angle of the lever so that shortening was not necessary. I then found out (at that time anyway) that the only levers that had been shortened were the 28-29 levers that were positioned forward of the transmission shift lever, not like my '31 that is off to the right side of the shift lever. Everything works as it should using the extra hardware that Ken supplies in his kit.

FWIW, the two hottest antique car tours that I have been on was the MTFCI Meet in Rochester, MN, ...and the joint meet held in Dallas. If I recall correctly, the heat index for the Rochester meet was like 112°. I don't know about Dallas but it was hot as 'Hades' there too. The difference that I remember is on the Rochester tour, a bunch of old people drove approximately 100 miles each day without A/C. |

Re: Request for AC guys
That's about how I feel about it too. If there were a kit being made for a stock Model T, I bet some Model T people would buy it too.

Re: Request for AC guys
Thanks for the confidence, Brent, but, i dont want to get into the kit business any more. For transmissions, AC for Model T's or even Studebakers. I am getting lazy in my senior years. ken

Re: Request for AC guys
I might consider A/C if I could keep my 6v system.

Re: Request for AC guys
Back in "the day", they made A/C for 6 volt systems. My dad had one in a 6 volt Volkswagen.
However, when I went to install one in my '54 Ford, (in about 1960) they had quit making them in 6 volt, had to go 12 volt or not at all.
