Default Evans?

I am hopeful to find some first hand experience with the use of EVANS coolant in a flathead. I have listened to quantities of "I have heard ---" but would like some personal experiences.

Thanks,

Fourdy

The comments I got were that even though it didn't boil over or cause hotspots it did increase the overall temperature of the block, heads etc. Raised the temperature in the engine bay. How hot did your block run?

I couldn't tell you hot hot the block got.I only had the original temp gauge which was NOS .I lived in the Calif high desert at the time so the days in summer would get to 105 degrees. We drove to St George Utah for the Western V8 meet and back (so several mountain passes)with no issues.I then moved to Hawaii and was in a local parade.Never boiled over and yes got hot after idling for a long time. That heat did fry the coil which I had to replace.

Evans has no water so it doesn't boil over but if you have a leak and have to add you have to use Evans or it ends up like regular antifreeze/water and will boil.
