I do as Bob does. I don't run any filters, drive on only hard paved roads, and change the motor oil every fall whether I put 50 miles or 500 miles on the car. I rarely go over 500 miles I'm not a 'tour' guy, just a pleasure cruise kind of owner.

A Model A Ford is the easiest vehicle I ever owned to change oil in. Our '36 Ford comes in a close second.

Yup, I agree. But some of that “ease” is offset by the difficulty in greasing the chassis. I think my car has 28 or so fittings. Whew...

Some say "Do it by the book". I while ago, I bought a 1930 CCPU out of Arizona. The seller took it to his local Ford dealer for service, new tyres and fix the brakes before he advertised it. When I got it, the windscreen sticker said the next oil change was due 5,000 miles later. The brakes were downright dangerous - they were so far out of adjustment. Seems that dealer didn't "do it by the book" and probably had no idea change intervals were different in those days. IMO, it is an indictment of many modern dealers that he didn't check either.
I won't post here which dealer but if you want to know, ask by PM.

When it’s dirty? That’s how modern vehicles with computerized oil change warning do. They figure in all the factors and tell you it’s time. So if your oil is getting black, it’s time!
