And the 30 running boards and splash aprons. No shocks, and why does he feel it needs f-a-m mounts?

I would guess he means that he really does have a minimum number in his head and if it doesn't bid to that number he won't sell it.

Similar to a buyer making a bid but saying that if he changes his mind, he won't actually complete the deal.

Here is what I see:

1. Front steering dampener
2. homemade wiring harness
3. gas tank with lots of rust
4. What kind of transmission and Over drive??

I doubt the front ends been apart - its mysteriously dirty compared to the rest of the car (compare front axle to rear axle in terms of paint and cleanliness)... me thinks they rolled a whatever front axle assembly under it - steering has all sorts of slop so they slap the dampner on to "fix" it.

Is his Green, really supposed to be Washington Blue ?
Chrome tail light stands (brackets) indicate that originality was NOT a priority when he did this restoration. The Pin-Stripe is weak, if it is there at all. I did not see it. Also missing are the two Engine Pans. First time I have seen Black upholstery in a Dlx Roadster. It must be part of the rare Early Instrument Panel-1931 special package. When I had my Deluxe '31 Roadster, I do not remember that my Rumble-Seat handle was like the Cabriolet handle, as he has on his '31 Dlx. Roadster. Mine could have been wrong.

However, we must all be impressed that his top is an ORIGINAL Ford Factory item "Top is an original", whereas the rest is with LeBarron Bonney. It must be said that an original top in such good condition is a rare thing indeed, and worthy of a closer look.

Not with-standing all of the questions and remarks, it is a pretty car, and an excellent candidate for a 'Peoples Choice' award. And it would make an excellent starting point for someone who can tweak it a bit to met MARC/MAFCA judging standards of competition.

The black sock over the breather tube was an early accessory.

Auction says he would install the float a motor kit if it doesn't sell, but I see it's already on the car. Thats strange.

Is he taking water temp readings from the return pipe?

Still a nice looking car and could be had for a good price despite the errors. (if he accepts the best bid).

Mike, not everyone is interested in how HOT their engine's water temperature is. Some like to know how COOL the water gets before it gets into the warm engine and begins to heat up.

Now I do admit that I am not one of those, but as he is, there may be others as well. That the restorer put it in at all indicates that he had the best of intentions.

I suppose now that the poor fellow's car has been subject to intense scrutiny, it may be time to start looking (easy to find) for the many positive aspects of the car. Most of the "good" as well as most of the 'bad' can only be discovered with a thorough 'in person' examination, but we 'arm chair' critics can at least do a 'cosmetic' judgement of the good points of the car - just as we have done a 'cosmetic' judgement of the bad points of the car.

Ignoring his sometimes 'weak' information / description, I think we all can find some good things to say about this car. Let's try shall we?

Interesting color choices - Definitely not for the purist.

Appears to have F-A-M on front engine mount.

Switch on shifter could be turn signals.

Splash shields and instrument panel point to 1930 but it could have a 1931 replacement engine?

You guys missed the front seat is grey and the rumble is black

Must have found some of that old LAKERLOID paint we used in those days to get that metallic sheen.

Is there anything else that is wrong with it??

I left the Model T forum because of comments like this. Just take the car on face value rather than ripping it apart. I'm sure it's not as good as the cars you guys drive, but try to get over it....

There is a distinct difference between ripping apart and drawing flaws and discrepancies to the attention of potential buyers. There was no malice demonstrated by the critics in my opinion. Wayne
