Re: trasmission installation
Just align the splines and shove it in. Then align your bolt holes and you're good. It helps to use a couple 6" lengths of all-thread in upper holes for alignment.

You may have to shift the tranny to high gear, then grab the output shaft and turn it back and forth to line up the clutch splines to make it slip together.

Re: trasmission installation
i assume the clutch disc was aligned properly when tightening the pressure plate..
put a little film of grease on the input shaft splines before installing |

Engine and tranny in or out of the car? If in the car use some threaded rod as quides to help with the mating of the two.

Before bolting up the transmission you might consider installing the seal kit that is available to help prevent the oil from the transmission making its way into the bell housing where the shift rails from the transmission slide into the bell housing. Where abouts are you located?

Re: trasmission installation
Get some bolts that fit, from your local hardware, that are couple of inches longer than necessary, then cut the heads off them to create some guide dowels. Round out the cutoff ends. Use an old tranny input shaft to align the clutch, or at least to check it. If you don't have one, the vendors sell a dummy that will work just fine and isn't very expensive. Not truly necessary, but unless you have a really good eye for centering the clutch, they will make the installation a piece of cake.
