Left one in photo 35' front ???

Right one in photo ??' rear ???

In 35 the bottom stud for the operating wedge is riveted in place. In 36 it was held to the backing plate with a nut and cotter pin like the rear backing plate you have shown.

In my experience, the 35's have the bolt on lower stud and 36's are riveted. So, in my opinion, the illustrated backing plates are indeed for 35.

Terry, it's just the opposite. '35's bolted, '36's riveted.
