Roosevelt 1936 Phaeton
President Roosevelt’s 1936 Phaeton is on display at Hyde Park. It is dark blue in color. Is the color “Washington Blue” or another blue? I believe Ford had a couple of blue colors in 36.

For reference - while realizing that color rendering on screens vary widely : https://www.google.com/search?q=fdr+...KCTW0FVyrqNFM:

Re: Roosevelt 1936 Phaeton
Hi Everyone. John, I haven't seen Roosevelt's car but I understand it is Washington Blue.
I've seen quite a few cars that color and there isn't much consistency in what I see. Lots of variations. Can't find my '35-36 book right now, but yes, there were more blues than just Washington Blue. Okay, I just found it. It looks like the only other 1936 blue was Bambalino Blue, a limited time color. This photo is from 2013's Fall Barners Tour in PA hosted by TrainGuy Phil. And a shot of the key fob that my dear old dad put on the keys for our Phaeton.

Re: Roosevelt 1936 Phaeton
Two 36 Washington Blues from the 05 WNM granted the lighting is different between the two BUT still two totally different hue's between them...I would submit that the roadster is closer to a Washington Blue and the Conv Sedan closer to a Colonial Blue (maybe)....Everyone's eye for clor is different though!!!!

Re: Roosevelt 1936 Phaeton
I was at Hyde Park a few years ago and saw the 36 Phaeton. It is definitely Washington Blue.

Re: Roosevelt 1936 Phaeton
What an impressive lineup of 1936 Fords. As mentioned by Very Tangled, there are slight variations in the Washington Blue on the three Phaetons. |
