I typically ignore attacks on brands like this as you'll never win the argument.
Personally, I go by the product not whos name is stamped on it.

Bill and I are good friends. He was just giving me a hard time. He couldn't care less if I used a chev part.

Hi George
yes that was a Chevy head but a good Chevy 327 if I recall just my opinion the 327 was one of there best engines at the time. also that was before we bailed out GM --LOL
yes you and Marlin will have to plan a road trip Cindy would love to see her again. my shop is really a mess right now. I am in the process of reassembling the cam grind and the crank grinder is coming apart to clean and rebuild a few things on it, the dyno is in boxes and scattered about, and the list goes on and on!! if I get a little more floor area cleaned up you will have to come visit for a week and help assemble some equipment.

Bill I agree the chev 327 was the best V8 of all time. My 327 in my 66 Vette has over 200,000 miles on it and still runs great.

Let me know when you are ready and we will come.

I had 226,000 on my 1992 SBC 350 when I sold the truck.
Any specific reason you both feel a 327 is better than a 350?

I'd take the Chrysler 331 Hemi any day over the small block chevy in stock form.

I could never own a "hemi"
The fact it's been outdated since what, 1911? and they advertise it as something special bothers me too much.

I'll take a 4 valve per cyl pent-head any day.

Even a 1920s Duesy is better than a 1960s - current hemi!

I prefer the Flathead. The undisputed KING of outdated designs. Simple, dependable, all you need for a low RPM motor like the A. Plenty of power is available.

I have no problems with flatheads because no one advertises them as something special.

I am addicted to reading about Miller engines now though ever since someone mentioned them in the boating thread. He made some really mean engines even by today's standards.
