Unusual Exhaust Manifold
Anybody know anything about this exhaust manifold? I assume it's after-market. The cast part is interesting - no doubt the dip in the middle is to access the condenser and distributor hold-down. But what's up with the sheet metal cover? Heat shield? Cooling scoop? What?
Also any clue what that thing is sticking in the wiper port on the intake? |

Re: Unusual Exhaust Manifold
I haven't seen that particular one before, but it's a heater manifold and missing the rear tin.

Very large plug to cap off port.

Re: Unusual Exhaust Manifold
That is a strange looking manifold.. The missing rear portion of the shield should go to the hole in the firewall..

Re: Unusual Exhaust Manifold
I have the same complete manifold on my 31 slant window. you are missing the back section and the air tube that goes thru the firewall. I have never seen another one like it.

Re: Unusual Exhaust Manifold
I'm wondering if there isn't a small cover over the dip in the center that is also missing?

Re: Unusual Exhaust Manifold
OK, just to be clear, it isn't mine. It's on a 29 Tudor for sale at Rufus Ranch - they say the car was stored for 50 years. Anyway, I was just curious about the manifold as I had never seen one like it. I thought it might be a heater since there's an inlet on the firewall. But the sheet metal cover looks like it fits too tight to allow much air flow - course the missing part may compensate for that.
Well, yeah - just wondered exactly WHAT it is Quote:
