Default 34 Windshield Frame Inner Finish

I currently have my '34 4 dr Deluxe Sedan windshield frame out, someone previously used silicone to install the glass so I am re-doing it correctly.

Anyway, while I have it out, was the inner (toward the cabin) sides of the frame painted a satin or flat black to reduce glare originally? It is a nice chromed frame, probably a repro Trautwien, not sure. I just want it to be as close to original as possible and might as well take care of that now while its out. Thanks for any help...

Yes, the inside of the frame was originally painted black. Judging from the survivors I've seen, it was either matte or satin, basically devoid of any gloss (given its purpose).
