Default John Cruzin 40

Hi guys hope I can get some help , put in new brakes in my 1940 ford also new master, and wheel cylinders new hoses and bled it i cant get a hard pedal car won't stop.

Read through this thread. It tells how to adjust the brakes. Do that first. Do Not Let
the Master Cylinder run dry when you are bleeding.

Also, buy Speed Bleeders so that you can make it a one man job when you bleed them. They work great. This thread tells you all about them. Buy the long ones mentioned in the thread.

Here's the correct sequence for brake bleeding.

Also, some wheel cylinders made off shore are incorrectly made.

Make sure you have no leaks in the brake lines.

Last, but not least. The SEARCH function is your friend.

Did you have the shoes arced to the drums? If not, you may have a very small contact area and thus very poor pedal and stopping efficiency.

Thanks 19 forty the frist set I installed with Avery noligable friend 10 years ago he since has pass so i brought it to a shop not sure if they did it correctly but it doesn't stop thanks for your help

I doubt if "shops" today know how to work on old Lockheed brakes.
