Re: cylinder head nuts
So this means we could use those Cool "Chrome Acorn Style" ones too if not going for completely Original Look!

Re: Source for acorn head nuts?
I'd like to doll-up my 1930 Ford A engine a little. Does anybody have a source for 7/16-20 chrome (or stainless steel) Grade 8 acorn nuts? I thought of Colony Fasteners from my motorcycling days but couldn't find Grade 8 on their website. Same with McMaster-Carr: Either Stainless or Grade 8 but not both at the same time. (I've been advised to get Grade 8 since I have a 5.5:1 Snyder head and high-strength head studs.)
I've tried the cosmetic "nut covers" but wasn't impressed with their loose fit. Thanks! Harvey

Re: Source for acorn head nuts?
Look on Ebay I got a couple of sets of stainless steel ones there. It was too long ago so I don't remember who I got them from. They were very reasonable on the price.

Re: cylinder head nuts
Put a "dab" of silicone on the inside of the acorns and install.
