I noticed today that the guns and stuff of Bonnie and Clyde is going to be put up for auction. My question is, Has the 34 ford sedan that they were killed in already been sold? Thanks Jim

My wife and I saw the car at Whiskey Pete's in 1993, I think. We were on our honeymoon. Quite impressive exhibit, makes you feel bad for them with all the bullet holes. They did kill quite a few people. Live by the gun...

The 1934 ford sedan is not on auction here. Only two firearms used in Joplin on april 13th 1933 by bonniie & clyde will be auctioned on 21st jan in Kansas City. They are an 1897 winchester 12 gauge pump shotgun and a .45 cal. Thompson submachine gun.

I dont know if it was the real Bonny & Clyde car or not, But back in 1969 when I was around 10 yrs old my Mom took me and my little brother to the Ann Arbor mall Arlons was the name of the store. When we got there in the parking lot was a semi tractor and trailer sitting there and on the side of the trailer it said BONNY & CLYDE'S DEATH CAR along with pictures and such. I wanted to go in there so bad but it cost 50 cents to enter and I guess Mom didn't have an extra dollar so me and my little brother could go in and see it. While in the store shopping around that's all I could think about was going to see B/C's car. Kinda like the kid that wanted the BB gun on Christmas story. You'll Shoot your eye out kid. As we where leaving the store I was pretty much pouting and hanging my head low, and low and behold there was a dollar bill laying there in the parking lot. I think ol George smiled and winked at me as I picked it up and showed my Mom what I had just found and begged her to let us go through that semi trailer and see B/C's car and belongings and she said ok. Holly Crap we're going. We stood in line and made our way up the steps and finally made it into the trailer. There in front of us stood Bonny and Clyde manikins of course with there guns and all. And to the left was the bullet rittled Car. Some where along the way my little brother got scared and ran out the entrance door back to where Mom was standing outside waiting for us. But I can remember it like it was only yesterday, there was all kinds of Bonny and Clyde stuff in there to look at but you had to keep moving a long because of all the people behind you. Was it really Bonny and Clyde's car ? I don't know but it sure did leave a lasting memory that I will never forget.

I remember as a 9-10 year old kid in the very early 60's that the B&C death car was displayed at a local shopping center. It was in a big trailer and you had to climb some stairs up to the doorway. I agree with bige386 that it was a must see and was pretty scarry for a kid with a big imagination.

The original car sold here in Massachusetts for $175,000 in 1973, by Kruse Auctions. Winning bidder was Pete Simon Vegas casino owner.

Pretty interesting stuff. I remember that car and also Hitlers staff car traveling around the country some years back. They were both on a large black top parking lot in Lakes Region in N.H. at what was once a Kmart store . Glad I had the experience.

Quite a few years ago (in the 1970's I think) there was "the" Bonney and Clyde car on display in a trailer in downtown Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I already had a 33 four door sedan so I knew quite a bit about them, how the interior should look etc. The car on display had crappy non-original seat upholstery and the dash had been painted some goofy color. It looked more like the way a car would look after 20 -30 years of use and had been fixed up by someone just keeping it going as an old car. The car B&C got killed in was almost new then, so that didn't seem to make sense to me. Somehow I had the feeling it was just an old Ford that someone took out behind the barn and shot at.

Interesting to note that the heater was an Arvin. Probably installed by the dealer. Would that heater cost points at a concourse show?

If I remember correctly, I think someone did make a copy of the death car, bullet holes and all. After WWII, someone got the Bonnie and Clyde car running and actually drove it in some events. It has been documened. A brief internet search will bring this stuff up.

Yep, installed by the dealer. The original owner had the car for less than a month before it was stolen.

If anyone hasn't seen that letter that Clyde wrote to Henry Ford, you should read it. Ol Clyde told Henry the "Ford V8 has every other car on the road skinned" He signed his name Clyde Champion Barrow.
Ruth Warren must of left the key in, it's hard to steal one of those cars. That steering lock is pretty good.

Did that car go on the Glidden Tour, or at least a cross country tour with a bunch of other cars maybe 30+ years ago? Or was that a replica. Tour passed through Atlanta and spent the night here. I saw all of the cars at a motel on north side of town.

As was mentioned it may be getting around the Las Vegas NV. area being displayed.

I saw it some time ago in Northern California at one of the large shows like the Oakland roadster show. Interesting to see, sad to see a 1934 Ford shot to heck!
