Default Motor knocks

I bought my 1928 AR cvt from the original owner in 1955 .He was the first Ford mechanic at the local dealer .The car had 73,400 miles on it ,original spare and Atlas tires on the car .It had a knock when it idle .Bob said don't worry it will never give trouble ."Ford forgot to drill a hole to the back camshaft bearing" At hi speed it quiets down .I have driven it every year since and it runs great .

I recently did up one of those engines and drilled a hole there for myself (or is that for the bearing)

Pages 118 & 119 of the Service Bulletins shows how to drill the missing oil hole for the rear camshaft bearing in early blocks.
