1930-31 Lower Cowl Post Brace
Does anyone know if you can use the 1930-31 Brookville lower cowl post brace ( A1010BLB) in a coupe? I've been looking for replacement braces for a while with no luck other than the Brookville pieces. I contacted Brookville and they responded that the post braces they carry are for open cars. They also said that the braces are different between the roadster and the coupe but they thought that their pieces could be modified to work. Apparently no one makes the brace specifically for the coupe.
I would like to know if anyone has used these braces in a coupe and some info on how you altered them to fit. Thanks for any help you can offer. Tony |

Re: 1930-31 Lower Cowl Post Brace
It looks like no one has used the Brookville brace to replace rotted or missing coupe lower cowl post braces. If not, does anyone have any experience replacing bad cowl braces by any other means that they can offer? I'm willing to try fabbing a piece but would appreciate any advice from someone who has been faced with this dilemma on their restoration.
TIA, Tony |
