Fender bead repair
Does anyone have experience using all or a portion of the front fender bead repair sold by Snyder's? Is the bead correct?

Re: Fender bead repair
I'm sorry but I don't but I would think it would be easier to repair the bad section. I find it hard to believe that the entire edge would be bad but the rest of the fender good.

Theirs is close but no cigar unless changed in the last few years
But small. Find the correct curvature off a donor fender and splice. It generally works better to splice in a small piece than try to deal with what's there especially if anyone has bugger with it before! |

Why is it better to cut out a crack and weld in a larger patch that gets welded on three sides, instead of welding one line of a crack. I understand wanting a wire in the bead that goes beyond the crack, but that involves unrolling the edge and splicing in a short length of new wire. |

Now by placing a piece of "virgin" metal at that stress location will keep the crack from following any hardened metal weld. Like I said that is how I understand it.
