Default Bruce Lancaster

I just spoke with Bruce's pastor and he confirmed that Bruce died last night. There will be a memorial service but the arrangements have not yet been made. It's a crappy rainy day here in New Jersey.

That sucks - Bruce was such a cool/great dude. But - if he would have had a poor quality of life (like a lot of stroke survivors do), he would probably wish a graceful exit over being a 3 legged spider . . .

Godspeed Bruce - by gosh we'll all miss you!

Well, Pete, this makes it a lousy day in southern Georgia, too. I wish I had the address of his family so I could send a card and note. Some guys will never, ever, be replaced. Bruce was in that category.

Bright, sunny, warm, and sad in south Georgia,

Bruce has always been a man of few words but you could take every single one of them to the bank, he never once got involved in any petty arguments but was always a wealth of knowledge and the information he shared was without any strings.

The sun will never again shine on the hamb er the Ford Barn quiet as bright as it did yesterday but Bruce has left his wisdom throughout the hundreds of post and will always be a member I have in high esteem.

So long Bruce, until we meet again, and to Beth and the entire family, please know you are in our hearts a prayers, your dad was a good man. HRP

Gosh, that is terrible news. Didn't know Bruce personally but always was amazed by
his knowledge and willingness to share it. Makes one wonder, what's next. Prayers and respect to a very good man and his family. May his family take comfort in the good that he did during his stay on earth. We are better off because of Mr. Lancaster. Will surely be missed.

What a great dude. He and I were pondering combustion chamber designs . . . and he said "I'll send you a book" . . . and sure as heck, it arrived at my door. He was a guy that knew so much, but SHARED so much. He was like the greatest college professor you ever had -- had a lot of knowledge, but was still willing to debate, learn and change his perspective. I'll miss yah Bruce . . . and we'll drive HotRods in Heaven some day!

I am as devastated as all of you.Spoke with him extensively in the last year as he bought some French Flathead engine parts from me.He had spent time in France and knew quite a bit about these engines as well as the very low production examples. Now I wish I had written the details out as he asked me to let him know if I ran across the rare ones.I so enjoyed talking with him.He did mention to me that he had a ' 32 coupe.
Adieu Bruce.

Well spoken HRP.
Bruce Lancaster is a legend and should be on the Fordbarn and HAMB wall of fame.
A very special "giving" person.

He helped me on a few projects like most of us. So kind. Never met him.

The librarian will be missed for sure. Thank you Bruce for all that you did for me and many!

I learned to admire and respect Bruce for his superior knowledge of all things early Ford when I joined Fordbarn in 2000. Whenever he posted any type of information, you just knew you could take it directly to the bank....no doubt.

Rest in peace Bruce Lancaster, you have more than earned your place in heaven with our Lord.

Bruce, as everyone has mentioned, was very generous, he freely shared his extensive and accurate knowledge of early Fords. He was also generous in other ways. When he saw my 32 roadster with an outside mirror he told me he had a correct original standard w/s post. Not only did he have one but he wanted to give it to me because it would have a better home on my roadster than on a shelf in his garage. Turns out he also had a std roadster and two std w/s posts. He gave me one and wouldn't take any thing for it. Not many people would do that, I think you can count them on one digit.

Also, no one has mentioned his voice. He had a deep voice, when he spoke, it was like listing to music, and if the conversation was about Early Fords, you were listing to some very good music.

A passionate man dedicated to researching and posting accurate facts to the many Early Ford fans that share the passion.

That is his legacy, shared knowledge, and parts, whenever needed. Credit him when you pass on the knowledge he so generously gave to us.

I can only imagine the many hours he must have spent researching to answer even mundane questions so easily asked, but not so easily answered.

Like I said. Never actually personally met face to face with the man. But Bruce online, Helped thousands with just straight information. A rudder in a sea of confusion.
