Re: Rear Sway Bar
I'm sure it was already explained, but the sway bar is to help keep the body level, but the panard bar helps to keep the body from moving sideways over the axle. Think of a body mounted on the axle using 2 leaf springs. The leaf springs do a pretty good job of keeping the body from moving sideways. Now think of the body mounted on 2 coil springs over the axle. The coil springs can't control side movement, so you need a bar to control it. The bar should be from one side of the axle to the opposite side of the body, so it's long and mounted as horizontal as possible. The end of the bar will move through an arc, so the longer the bar, the less side movement.

Re: Rear Sway Bar
Great explanation Tom-W. A Panhard Bar is what a Model A needs. I'm not even sure how you would hook up a sway bar on a Model A.
