Default engine pull

I know this has been beat to death. I just have one question, well for now.
1941 ford sedan with 1951 8BA motor. Pulling engine to refresh it.
Is there any reason I cannot unbolt transmission from bellhousing and pull engine?
looks to me like the throw out bearing and clutch linkage stays with transmission and starter can remain in place?
I can reach top mount tranny bolts with swivel socket so floor will stay also.
Just want to know if my thinking is correct. Not necessarily if its best way or not please.

That’s how I do it with my 40. I do remove the floor to make access to the transmission bolts and the engine radius rods plus it make it easier to align the transmission input into the clutch upon reinstalling.

If you want to make the engine removal and install as easy as possible remove the transmission cover and front seat to give yourself easy access and lots of working room, especially when it comes to reinstalling the transmission main shaft into the clutch and pressure plate. I also remove the toe boards. If you accidently loosen the pressure plate flywheel bolts the clutch disc may slip down and you will need a realignment tool to mate them to the transmission.

DO NOT FORGET TO REINSTALL THE THROWOUT BEARING BEFORE YOU REINSTALL THE ENGINE!!!!

I did that once in 1972 and had to remove the engine a second time.
TAKE PHOTOS along the way.

If you are still using the torque tube be sure to replace the cork seal of the clamshell with this:

Also, fill the clamshell with John Deere Green Corn Head grease. Will take about 2 tubes.

Hey thanks fellows. I got lucky and the floor pan and carpet had been replaced by previous somebody.
So I did remove The pan and I am sure it will be much, much easier. It just made too much sense especially with alignment when putting back. I am taking lots of notes believe me.
The throwout bearing had started making noise is another reason to pull it out. Supposed to be new clutch so probably wont loosen pressure plate. So far job not too bad.
Thanks again
