Saved A-nother one
Picked-up my second Model A Pickup. Long story short; I got it from a friend who got into some financial trouble. When his troubles began he sold the rental house where the truck was being stored and put it into a storage facility along with all the other junk that was in the garage. A couple years passed and he again got into troubles and couldn't pay the storage fees (for mostly junk). After some negotiation I payed his back storage fees + some cash (which allowed him access to retrieve other items) for the truck.
It's an early 31 (non-indented firewall, narrow bed), last registered in 1981. And like many that were used as everyday vehicles has many hacks/farmer fixes. My intent is to make it road worthy and use it as a driver. The engine is shot but rebuildable. The brakes have been converted to hydraulic but I don't know what parts were used for the conversion and the pedal just goes to the floor. This is a California car so no rust except the usual bed U-channel. The bed has plywood instead of the planks. It needs a lot of work but I love the petina Last edited by MALAK; 07-31-2018 at 04:25 PM. |

Re: Saved A-nother one
it looks like the brake pedal mount is screwed into the gas tank? Is this true?

Re: Saved A-nother one
No its mounted to the firewall. Although crooked. The part the touches the tank is just a Stop with [what's left of] a rubber bumper. I'll be fixing all that. Although since it already has hydraulics I may just redo the system to make it a little [lot] better.

Re: Saved A-nother one
That pedal would probably not be legal in my country. You may want to change it.

What's the apparatus in the upper right hand of the 3rd picture? I'm suspecting that it's a voltage regulator.

Re: Saved A-nother one
It's always nice to have a truck.
When we got our 1930 Roadster, the previous owner had like 5 or 6 horns (none of them original) and buttons for each one! He put all the buttons on the dash rail. It had a lot of other mismatched part too. David Serrano |
