Default where can I buy 6v 21/3 c.p. bulbs?

trying to find 21/3 c.p. bulbs for our 28 with single bulb headlights I just bought some 1154 6volt 21/3 candle power bulbs but the new bulbs have stagered locating pins. on the original bulbs the pins are in line. all the places I have checked have the 21/21 c.p. bulbs. but nobody seems to carry the original 21/3 c.p. bulbs. any one know what number bulb I need? or where to buy some?

I assume you called Bratton's or Bert's? Neither of them show online and I didn't look in their catalog. Ask for Steve @ Bert's and he will let you know if he has them or where you can find them.

1154 has offset pins and 1158 has straight pins.
Lang's has them https://www.modeltford.com/model-t-p...s/light-bulbs/
Also NAPA.

Re the 1158, while they are the correct CP and will fit, the filament shape will light your lamp but will not do much to light the road.

Years ago I filed off the offending pin and put the bulb in w/only one pin, worked for me.

Original bulbs were 21/21 CP, upgrade to 32/21 was offered where legal. There are also 32/32 and 50/32 to choose from. All these bulbs are RP-11 shape, BA15D base. The 1154 (BAY15D) and 1158 (BA15D) are S-8, which is smaller. IMO 3CP is too dim for low beam. 3CP is used for park, cowl, and dash lamps.

The original headlamp bulbs on early 1928 was a 21-3 candlepower as the original poster stated (driving beam + parking light beam), and other posters believe to be an error. I have found no source for these bulbs in headlight sized bulbs for quite a few years. The ones that have been mentioned are actually tail light bulbs (brake light & running light) and are smaller in glass surface size than headlamp bulbs. I treasured my old stock of these headlight bulbs, never advertised them, and sold my last pair only 2 or 3 weeks ago. By all means check suppliers who treasure old stock items, but they are very scarce.

Bob
If you need these for headlights you should grab them quick. These 1158 bulbs are the original S-10 profile (with ridges), the more modern 1158s that fit brake/tail housings are S-8. These smaller ones should work for headlights, though.

Apparently there were "upgrades" available at the time - 1114 (21/21), 1118 (32/21), 1170 (21/6) and 1172 (32/6). Not sure what the differences are, Mr. Google couldn't find any.

Edit: just took a closer look - the filaments in those bulbs are at right angles to the contacts. I think they only fit Model T. May not focus properly in Model A.

Ten of them $27.50 each.

$1.30 per candle power.

Each headlight would be as bright as a 21st birthday cake?
