Default running boards 1937 tudor

Has anyone else had an issue with a set of new running boards from Bob Drake being to wide? I have the rear fenders attached to the body, and the running boards stick out approximately 3/4 to 1 inch wider than the fenders where they attach. This issue is on both sides of the car.

I used a set of Drake boards in a '37 coupe and they fit perfect.
