Installation Of Hood Hinge Spring 40 Pickup
Last summer I had a broken hood hinge spring that would now be replaced!
I made a spring spreader for this purpose. Here some pics from the installation. Jorgen |

That is a neat idea.
I haven't had to do a hood spring on a '40, but I've done lots of them on 60's Mustangs. Loop one end on the hinge, grab the other end with the boxed end of a 15/16" wrench and pull it into position. Looks like the 40 spring may not allow this method to work. |
