Default 1937 wood grain question

i'm.. having the woodgrain done for my 37. Does the grain run the long or short way for the door garnish and windsheild center moldings? thanks in advance.

Tony, unless you are attempting to do the woodgraining yourself, send the parts to a shop familiar with the patterns, such as Honest Charley.

And I find it interesting that the radio delete plate and ash tray woodgraining is vertical, whereas the rest of the dash is horizontal.

Yep, the woodgrain looked vertical to me, but the photo is a little difficult to tell.

I started sending mine to him a number of years ago. Fair prices, super craftsmanship and prompt service.
I can't speak highly enough for him.

Was the wood grain different for a deluxe vs standard? And was the radio bezel and ashtray also wood grained?

Deluxe has walnut woodgrain, whereas the Standard has mahogany woodgrain. Less sure about the radio bezel, believe it to be chrome plated. Ashtray is woodgrained (vertical).

I contacted Honest Charley, spoke to a very nice gentleman about refinishing my dash parts. Asked me to send photos of the parts in current condition. Sent the photos had not response. Followed up, no response over 3 weeks. I sent same photos to Evan @ Wood Grain It. He got right back to me and told me that he thought he could accomplish what I wanted. I sent him the pieces and he did a fantastic job and his price was less then estimated quote I received from Honest Charley on my original call to them. Sure HC does great work, just know that there is an alternative in Wood Grain It.
