Default 59A Oil Filter

So this 59A engine is fitted with the cannister type oil filter. Filter insert dimensions: 4 3/4" by 4 1/4". Is there some recognised parts No for these?
Like a Wix filter No or similar.
Thanks,
Phil NZ

I just went to O'reillys auto parts and they looked up the part number and had it in stock.

Oh, just saw where you are. Guess there are no O'reillys there.

Today the car parts stores usually donīt have them at hand...but a good agricultural/heavy equipment store has them.
Deutz, Merceds om314/616/621, Allis Chalmers, Hough, Hyster, Case...a company dealing with deutz usually have them on the shelf.

Yes you are right. The average car parts stores do not have these here.
So will go with as you suggest the heavy equipment outlets or filter outlet specalists. They are on ebay but when shipping is figured price really goes up for the landed filter in NZ.

Here's a somewhat related story. I also needed a 51004 and was at Walmart for some other stuff. So, I asked the manager about the filter. He checked his inventory, found nothing, picked up the phone and called the local O'reillys! Yup, they had it and saved it for me!

Just giving credit where credit is due!!!

Just replaced mine with oil change and NAPA #1006 is the one I use. It comes with 2 oil rings depending on what canister you have. Mine's a '40 V8. I've been buying this one for several years.

So pics. Depart Mosgiel the at Middlemarch through Macraes Flat through Palmerston and up main road to home. Battery went flat on camera so missed out on some nice Central Otago pics.
Already played about with a few things such as: fuel gauge, temp gauge, starter circuit. A few more items to pick away at but generally runs well.

Yeah Phil that's one nice car I drooled over it when it was up on Trade Me. I see the PO has used back up up lights as indicators like I have just done...... it was my thought and i didn't copy LOL. Are your front ones running through the the park lights or the foggies?

About the filters, I was told they are the same as common fork lift ones so there is something to explore.

Am in touch with Wix agent in Auckland who is on to it.There are 40 pcs across the ditch in Aus. Front ones are running through park lights. Fog lights are just for decoration and not wired up to date.
Of note there is fitted a vaccum tank in front of radiator for wipers, have only tested them and seem to work ok.
There is also a half fitted heater, just requires a few bits to complete.
For a sight unseen car its turned out ok.
