Folks,
Brief update:
I needed some primer and paint for the three bas plates under the left side of the two post lift. Jumped in the 32 and drove it to the local hardware. It preformed great. Even showing some fuel on the gage!
Really like getting it out. I can see how it would have been a work truck. But still rolls along nicely! I really like the truck with the original muffler on it! Big thanks to David Rehor for that original item to help get the right parts on the ragged ol' truck.
We just completed a week of work and activities at our pioneer steam and gas show. Had the 32 there two days. Lots of comments. Went in the parade each day.
Also pulled tractors. Got a first with grandsons WD Allis. Took second with my WD45.
Hooked them to the Dyno too. WD was 38 hp. WD 45 was 47 hp.
I have all the items to get the lift set up. 1.5 inch of shim plates, anchor bolts and plastic shims for final plumbing of the columns.
Ready to start on the mini shop before the end of the month. Friend will stop in and drill the holes.
Cheryl had a minor accident. Fell three steps from porch landing. One staple to close the head injury. Nothing broken.
24 hours in the ER.
Always something!
Hope things are good in Ford land

Chris,

Sorry to learn of Cheryl's fall. I wish for her a speedy recovery. Unfortunately, the risks of losing one's balance increase dramatically with age.

Ford Folks,
Finally was able to get a couple pictures loaded into postimage site. Like everything else in the world today, it is very slow!
This was from our Steam and Gas show in Sagertown PA. last week. The 32 is parked in the construction equipment area. Well it is a dump truck so it was pretty happy for this shot. I used it as our side by side to move me around the show grounds too. Got lots of looks. Goal when I got it was to drive it to the show, about 20 miles. I think it would have done fine on the back roads, but we just ran out of time and trailer-ed it there and back.
The previous owner stopped by to chat with me on Friday. We brought the truck on Saturday. He is going to come up to the shop and take it for a drive.

Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Mark, folks,
Must have been something to own one of these big trucks in 1932?
Working on the mini shop today. Have 4 more poles to set. Working on the skirt boards. Which I double up and put a treated board in between the double skirt boards. If it ever gets concrete this will keep the concrete contained and not around the poles. Just a detail that takes more time and material.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Ford folks,
Two local car shows in two days with the 32 doing very well traveling the less traveled paved back roads. Cheryl and I and along with John and Cathy with there very clean model A. Then John and his brother with the 47 Ford tonight. Was a good time seeing others with similar interests. What a variety of cars and truck!
Also the blackberries are ready now. Awesome on or morning cereal!
Still putting up sticks on the mini shop. Have several posts to set them should be able to think about getting the trusses in place.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Folks,
We are in rain delay!
Mini shop has roofing underlayment on and ready for shingles next week. Big thanks to our son Eric who has done most of the heavy lifting.
Now have moved 6 of the big tractors in there.
Nic to get a little more room in the big shop for projects this winter too.
Hope things are good in Ford land!
Regards
Chris and Cheryl
Cheryl and I took the 32 truck for a 50 mile trip Sunday.

Chris, belated best wishes to Cheryl...falls are a terrible thing!

The old adage, "there's no replacement for displacement," can be extended somewhat to new shop space....there's no replacement for more cubic feet!!

Best of luck with the new shop project!!! Sounds like a winner all around!!!

RSK, folks,
The mini shop will off load some items from the big shop for sure! The living room is free if two tractors!
Got the shingles delivered yesterday between rain drops.
Had to move them up and over the roof peak, because the driver could ho figure out how to get them to that side!
In rain delay again gives the old body time to recover! Not used to this physical stuff on a 6/12 pitch roof.
Like most storage areas it will make a good place to add more stuff
We took the 32 to car show last night and had a good visit with John and Cathy ( they drove their 48 Ford).
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Ooops. Accidentally broke one of my he front window swing arms. Ordered a set from Snyders, and may have a spare in the works too.
Really liking the sound of the original Ford muffler on the the truck.
Eric and I went for a 10 mile run in the back roads of Pennsylvania last night.
Have new electric service, 100 amp in the mini shop tonight. May get additional wiring completed Thursday. Way ahead of schedule on that for sure. Thanks to son and grandson for help on this project! Hav the ridg e vent and shingles to work on tomorrow. Building is house wrapped also. Will have same to exterior look as a he big shop. Gary vinyl on the upper and stained hemlock on the bottom.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

At this point it looks like you'll be closed in before the snow flies. When you live in a part of the country that has 'weather', a person can never have too many roofs.

GB,
yes just today the dark "snow" type clouds have rolled in and the temps are down in the mid 60's! Our local fair is second week of Sept. and historically the weather can be cool and damp.
Much more to do on the mini shop but with the shingles on and the Tyvec (house wrap) it can stand some inclement weather now!
Thanks for checking in on me! I will try to get some pictures up soon.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

I don't understand this snow you speak of. We just returned to weather were some days it doesn't break 100!

Impressive progress, and keep us up to date on enjoying the 32 while the streets are clear.

38 coupe, folks,
Humm? Progress doesn't look as good from here!
Roof is done. Windows and man door in a week or so.
We went to local car show last night. Several 70's Buicks 1960 Ford pickup. Our 32, an friend from second grade with his mother's 71 comet, a Chevy nova 1970 vintage, 1946 Chevy pickup street machine, 1971 Chevy Camaro.
Had fried cheese curds and a couple spring fed Colorado cool aids. Good to get the ragged ol truck out for the night. Cheryl tolerates my passions!
Car show Sat at Lake City PA. About 15 miles away. Plan to drive the truck there. Last year I had to trailer it with the old engine .what should I do with that old "B" engine that leaks and has been patched up??
Hope things are good!
On the new mini shop. Was working on what we call bird boxes. These are the transitions from rake to eave. Old school. Next is the soffit and fascia.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl
