Default 38 delivery van

I’ve been looking for a model A delivery van. But I found a 38 delivery van it has no motor or transmission in it. I can’t find a v8 motor for that year. But I have an extra model A motor and transmission. Does anyone know if that will bolt to that 38 without doing any modifications. Thanks Randy

No and No. Totally different mounting scheme, length and width. If the 38 is in good shape, it would be too valuable to butcher.

just lose that thought- as Jim says.

if you really want it- buy yourself a v-8 to drop in. if youre patient, a good one can be had for 1000. or less.

on the HAMB.......

Try posting on the early V8 forum, somebody will surely have a flathead
that will work. Any thing from the late 30's to late 40's would work.

I'm assuming that the van uses the same frame as a p/u. If so a 59 series or 8ba will be the ticket. I have an 8ba in my '39 p/u. Had to use a truck pan for clearance.

I don't know where you are located but if interested I have a flat head 6 cylinder. I know nothing about them but I have been told they have the same HP as an 8 but some say they will outrun the 8.

59A was rated @ 100 HP, 6 cylinder was 90 HP.

Flathead 6 ford won’t pull your hat off, and it’s not ‘38 correct.. ‘38 was the 85 and the 60 horse, another gutless wonder..itty bitty pistons..
