Do you need to remove manifolds to do this? Or just the carb?

I've done it with the manifolds on but it's a pain in --## at the back cylinder tho
If you're not in a rush take them off. Why do you wanna get aggravated?

I would remove the manifolds to do it. Way easier to see and work on it that way. Having the manifold out of the way will probably save you time in the long run.
