Bob ....I wasn't trying to be facetious with my reply. If you're not capable of doing this type of mod yourself, that means that you have to farm it out. This is really dangerous territory in the old car game. So many things can go wrong. There are shops out there that will cut your car up, only to realize that the project is over their head. Your car is now immovable, about worthless, and you may end-up being charged with murder! Then there is the cost involved. The labor will likely be astronomical! Then, there are the results. I had a friend years ago that had an inept, yet 'gung-ho' shop do a front end like this on his '56 Ford pick-up. It took almost two years of begging to get them to finish the project. It ended-up looking like a butcher job, and drove like crap. The red paint job on the body sure looked nice on Saturday night at the car show, but the truck was garbage as far as driving from then on. DON'T DO IT! Coop

My '53 rides pretty good now that I have replaced the springs with Aerostar springs, replaced the shocks, and replaced all the bushings. What kind of ride problems are you having?

If you do post over on the HAMB don't even think about mentioning the "M" word.

The only thing about these Ford front suspensions is that they need frequent lubrication. The manual for my '51 says every 1000 miles. I believe the '53's are the same. Keep 'em greased and they work well.

Don't do it. Rebuild the front end with stock parts and it will ride just fine!

Bob, Since the parts for rebuilding your front suspension are available, you are better off rebuilding your stock suspension. Don't open a can of worms.

A guy I work with had a pro shop do a 55 custom line up with a mustang II. What a sad end for a concourse quality ride. It cant carry two people in the front seat , it can't turn into a parking stall as it doesn't turn sharp enough and the clutch linkage throw had to be shortened so the clutch does not work correctly. He has put the car away as it is not fun (AKA SUCKS) to drive anymore and has approached me about putting it back to stock when money allows. I also saw the same results with the Mustang II under a 1946 Chevy Panel. Why do guys keep doing this?

From the sound of it I'll probably just rejuvenate the stock front end.
