Default radial tires

I am thinking of putting 600x16 radial tires on a 36 Ford pickup with original steering gear box. Does anyone know how the pickup would handle with the installed? Is this a good idea or not?
Thank you

The single best thing you will ever do to your 36 will be to fit radials!

I absolutely agree. I did this on my '51, and it made all the difference in the world.

I don't have a '36, but they sure made a big difference on my '40 Sedan. I went with Cokers and pretty happy with them. Good luck.

I put Diamondbacks radials on my 36 3window & it most certainly improved handle & steering . I will never go back to bias tires

I run radial tires on all of our Flatheads except the '39 Lincoln Zephyr. Strangely, I find that the LZ handles better with the 7.00X16 six ply tires. When I got the LZ it had a set of G78X15 radials mounted on '47 Lincoln rims and I did not like the ride or handling however, 6.00X16 radials vastly improved the ride and handling on the '39 CS. I have 15 inch rims with various size radials on our '47 Convertible, '51 F-1 and '53 F-100 Panel Truck.

I have radials on my 49 and bias on my 41 and while I agree the radial eliminate the tendency to follow every ruthless in the road they make parking a pain. When parking with bias you feel like you have power steering but with radials you know you don't.

I forgot to mention that I run the radials at 40psi, that makes them more user friendly when trying to park, parallel or otherwise...
