Default removing grease, road and breather scum

I'm prepping for the July 4th parade. I'm thinking a big rag soaked in Dove and a brisk wipe down

A little too much information there?
Did you mean Dawn dish soap? Simple Green may be a good choice. I use that on my Harley.

The best under hood and chassis clean up is non abrasive hand cleaner like gojo, goop, Napa brand non pumice type. You can even use a paint brush on chassis areas. Wipe it down, removed grease, road grime and more and doesn’t hurt the paint at all. Leaves a nice shine in fact .

Another good "grease cutter" is "Purple Stuff". I've seen it in a number of local cap parts places, and it comes in sizes up to two gallons for a cost of about $15.00. I've found that it works great on minor grease and oil build-up, but I would make certain to make sure that it is rinsed off thoroughly so as not to leave spots on the paint ... just in case.

I often use wax and tar remover used to prep for painting. It cuts grease and dirt a will not harm paint.

Simple Green for me too. I get it by the gallon and transfer it into a quart spray bottle. I use it straight. My kids always get me a gallon or two for Christmas

The purple stuff mentioned earlier will do a very good job of taking off the grease but it can be hard on paint and your skin.

I use oven cleaner, and a bristle parts cleaner brush. Just a rinse off and go.

We are in the Fairfax City parade. I have my cow bell and rubber chicken. Bob the dog is scheduled to ride in the rumble
