Not model A but . . .
If you are into model A's then you must also be into things mechanical. I found this video of a steam powered saw mill cutting up a VERY big log fascinating. Maybe you will enjoy it as well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M57eCpaJuX4" BTW every time I use the "Insert Link" button I have to edit out extra stuff that is inserted to make it work. Is it a bug, or I am doing something wrong? |

When it starts to build up steam, it is a musical composition. Thanks Jeff

I worked all day today, and I am 80, but, can you imagine doing that all day everyday.

Re: Not model A but . . .
I'm surprised that the box factory didn't use the steam from the engine to heat the inside of the building. They could have piped it through several cast iron heaters.

No shortage of off-cut timber to burn and power the steam engine.
Thanks for posting.

Re: Not model A but . . .
TOTALLY FASCINATING! I put off P**ING, 'til it was over. Once a tree is felled, the REAL work begins. A lot of the machinery is supported by WOOD structures, even.
Can you even imagine sawing the HUGE Redwood logs harvested in the West? DON'T complain about the cost, when you floor your new FINE HOUSE. I remember when the "throw away" slabs were used to cover out buildings, etc. Sorry to cut this short, gotta' go "P"---- Bill Pain

Wonderful video Paul, thanks for posting, I could watch that sawmill in operation all day. 100 years old and still going, that's what you call teamwork !
