Default Air Balancing a Marvel 2405 Carburator

Hi All,
I need to know where the connection is made on the air intake at the
throttle valve. If anyone has air balanced their Marvel to accommodate an air filter please tell me, or show me, the correct way to do it. I know the vent hole is where it starts. See the photo below. Thanks for any and all replies.

I'm using the Air Maze type filter (no paper element) and did not do any air balancing - having no performance problems at all.

I use a paper filter without air balancing. No problem here.

Renners Corner can show you how by routing a passage inside the upper casting and blocking the vent hole.

What you are showing as a throttle plate is actually the choke plate, so either place is before the throttle plate!

I don't seem to have any problem running an air filter on my Stromberg 97 and it isn't "air balanced"...

But back to the Marvel. I run a K&N E-9257 with my Marvel with no issues.

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like I can forget balancing the carb.
