Default Model A Nightmare Fire

Hi everyone. I haven’t been on this site for a while due to computer and internet connection problems. Now I lost my computer and most of my Model A parts along with both of my nice Model A’s in a horrific house and garage fire.
I want to thank everyone for your support and help. Losing everything in a fire is your worst nightmare. I’m using my neighbor’s I Pad to send this message, and once I get through this mess and settled in to a place to live, I hope to get back to generator work and making and selling EVR’s. This is very hard, dirty work digging through the rubble, and your generous donations sure help me get through this nightmare. Luckily I am able to save about half of my generators and parts for them. All my homemade specialty tools are gone except for the 3 tools to work on shocks.
Marilee and I are working on a loan to buy a trailer house on 2 1/2 acres near Pine River MN. It has a nice 2 car garage I can do generator work in. Please be patient, and I will be back.
Thank You Everyone

Oh wow! sorry to hear this Tom, glad your ok! i went through a fire in my childhood home in 1979, it was at about 2 weeks before Christmas . i was right there, when it started, the charismas tree lights sparked and it went up like a roman candle! i walked about 5 ft, told my Dad and we walked back and the room was fully involved. all we could do is get out. i jumped on my bike and rode to the fire house. to tell them, my Dad and i leaned on his Ford Currier pickup that had a fire the day before. this was hard for me but i remember it was very hard for my Mom and Dad. Take care

Tom,this happened to me one year ago March 7.Everything in the house, one Model A in the cellar, parts, motorcycles, everything.Losing the dogs made the house seem unimportant.I can't say I know just how you feel, just that I have an idea.'i was EXTREMELY fortunate,in I have equipment to clean up and build with, another house to stay in,and the ability to rebuild it all myself.I really don't know how I would have made it through circumstances like yours.I came to grips with it real fast, probably because there was no other option, and no time for it.I called it in a 9:50 AM,they were there at 10,and at 3;00 PM I was standing there in the yard, all alone looking at my cellar hole. After a couple of minutes letting it soak in,it was like somebody threw a switch.I was over it.There was nothing I could do,so there was no point in moaning about it.The dogs were another story. That I won't get over.A neighbor,(a dog lover) took my excavator and buried them for me.I couldn't go through the rubble until they were taken out.

Tom The best of luck with your future endeavors whatever they may be. Good tools will be around a long time. I didn't start collecting tools till I was 16 because my father wisely locked me out of his tool shed. With your inventiveness you will certainly replace your needed specialty tools no doubt with some improvements. I will PM my contact info to Mark M. who will communicate with you as to any paper info you may want in the future and we'll get it to you.

Moving to Pine River... Good Move! When you get your next A or other old car you can cruise the country roads in peace. The idiots can have the metro areas.

So sorry to hear that. We lost our house several years ago. Dryer controller short. It eventually worked out. It's tough starting over. Hang in there!
